Getting started and selecting a version
What do I need to prepare to play?
Use 64-bit Windows 10/11, install NicG Launcher from official sources, and sign in. When GTA V is selected, the app checks your game build or guides you through a supported download flow. Required disk space is shown before installation.
View download page →How do Legacy and Enhanced differ?
These are two different GTA V versions: Legacy uses GTA5.exe, Enhanced uses GTA5_Enhanced.exe. Select the tab matching your installed game; each mod has its own support level for each version, check the mod card before installing.
Already have the Legacy game, should I choose Via Steam or Non-Steam?
Select "Via Steam" if GTA V is managed by the Steam client and you want to launch through Steam. Select "Non-Steam" to launch directly; this is also the flow for Epic, Rockstar, or other installs recognized by the app. If you chose incorrectly, you can change the launch method at the install confirmation step.
What should I do if I don't have GTA V?
You need valid access to GTA V. On the Legacy tab, select "I DO NOT have the game". The app will guide you through drive selection and, if a game download flow is configured, display the game download fee before starting. Review the info in the app before paying or downloading.
Do I need to re-download the game for each mod version?
No. The app keeps the base game and mods in separate libraries, sharing background files when possible. Choose a drive with enough space as recommended; the base game and mod library must be on the same drive. Do not manually move or delete the game folder after installation.
Installing and playing mods
What is the order to install mods and enter the game?
Select your game version, complete initial setup, then go to Mod Catalog. Open a mod card to view supported game builds, price, and access; click Install, wait for the queue to finish, then launch the game with the Play button in the app.
Browse mod library →Can a mod be used for both Legacy and Enhanced?
Not by default. Legacy and Enhanced files may require different installation packages or conversion patches. Only install if the mod card states support for the version you are playing; owning a mod does not mean all files are compatible with both versions.
Does installing mods affect the original game or GTA Online?
The app creates its own mod library and keeps the clean game untouched so you can switch back anytime. To play GTA Online, exit the modded build and switch back to the original game before launching via your platform. Do not use mods in GTA Online.
What should I do if two mods report a conflict?
Check the file name or mod group flagged as duplicate by the app, then choose to keep the current mod or replace it with the new one. For large graphics, map, or script packs, replace them one by one and test entering the game after each installation to easily troubleshoot errors.
Game crashes, black screen, or won't launch after installing mods?
Uninstall the recently installed mod using the Uninstall button in the app, then try running the game again. If it still doesn't work, check in-app warnings, try with fewer mods, and submit feedback with your game version, mod name, error screenshot, or log. Do not manually delete dlc.rpf or status folders, as the app needs them to properly uninstall and restore.
How to handle mods that drop FPS?
Try disabling heavy graphics mods, lowering MSAA, population density, view distance, and shadow quality in the game settings. Check your VRAM usage, then re-enable mods one by one to find the pack causing slowdowns on your PC.
Account, tiers, and payments
Are game versions and account tiers the same?
No. Legacy/Enhanced refers to game versions and installation methods. Free, Plus, Premium, Creator, Lifetime are account tiers that determine which mods can be used by tier. The previous name NG Final v6 now belongs to the Plus tier; it is not a separate game version.
View tiers and benefits →When are coins required to buy mods?
Free mods or mods included in your tier benefits will not deduct coins. Mods outside your tier can be purchased individually with coins when your account qualifies; purchase eligibility is displayed on the mod card and may differ from the mod tier label. Check the price and availability status in the app before confirming.
Will upgrading tier make me lose purchased mods?
No. Tiers and purchased mods are tied to your account. When upgrading your tier, the app displays the payment amount based on the current difference; please check your order and unlocked perks before creating a new transaction.
View tiers →Transferred money but tier, coins, or mods haven't unlocked?
Check the order status, transfer description, and amount on the QR. Do not transfer again while the previous order is pending. If not updated yet, contact support with the order ID and transaction screenshot for reconciliation.
View reconciliation and refund guide →How many PCs can one account be used on? How to switch PCs?
Game access in the app is tied to one PC at a time. When switching PCs, use the Switch PC feature in the app and verify with an email code; attempt limits and cooldowns are displayed there. Then log in again on the new PC.
Didn't receive email verification code?
Check the email entered and your Spam/Promotions folders, wait a moment, then use the Resend button in the app. If you still haven't received it, send feedback with your account email and request timestamp; do not share your password or OTP code with anyone.
Data, security, and support
Do I need to re-download the game and mods after reinstalling Windows or the launcher?
If the NicG Mod folder on your data drive is intact, the app can detect and restore your game and mod library upon login. If there are multiple copies across different drives, choose the correct drive and requested version. You will need to log in again; custom data and saves should be backed up separately before reinstalling Windows.
Does changing mods or saves cause loss of game progress?
Mods and saves are different types of data, but mods/scripts can affect game progress. Use the save backup feature before trying another save, installing large packs, or reinstalling Windows; keep an extra copy outside the game folder.
What if Windows or antivirus shows a warning when opening the installer?
Only download from official website links. If a warning appears, check the file name, download source, and warning details before proceeding. If the file is quarantined or you are unsure, stop installation and send a screenshot via Feedback; do not disable your entire system protection.
Open the official download page →What should I submit when reporting a bug?
In the app, open Feedback for the version you are playing and submit: actions just taken, Legacy or Enhanced, game source, mod name, error screenshots, and logs if requested by the app. For payment issues, include the order code; hide sensitive banking details and never send passwords, OTPs, or license keys.
Still need help?
If you are already in a game version, open Feedback in the app to report issues and track replies. For payments, contact support with your order ID and a photo of the receipt.
